English Awards

The English department is proud to announce KCI’s winners for the Waterloo County English Awards.

Junior Poetry: Jovana Djermanovic and Brett Crowley
Senior Poetry: Nicola Schaan (two of her poems)
Senior Short Story: Eleanora Bullock and Robin Langmuir
Junior Prose: Brett Crowley
Senior Prose: Mary Kate Thain
Illustrated Children’s Literature: Quincy Evans

These students are now in competition with other area high school winners. The Waterloo County winners ill be announced on April 28 at a reception banquet.

One more thing: all writers who entered KCI’s English competition are invited to attend a workshop for writers at Wilfried Laurier University on April 28. See Ms. Cengic for more details.

Sears Drama Festival

The 64th annual Sears Drama Festival was held last week at St. Benedict's high school. KCI performed the play God by Woody Allen. Though the play is not going on to the next level, we won two awards. David Blake-Dickson won an Award of Merit for acting and Thomas Putman won an Award of Excellence for his acting. Congratulations to all involved.

This year marks the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day.  It all started because of this photograph taken from the moon.  It's just a little planet; we best take care of it.

Concert Choir

Attention too all concert choir members: Remember our important rehearsal Fed. 24 after school. We will be recording Akuna A-Kite-ah for the first half of our rerhearsal. We will also finish preparing for our music clinic with Karen Burke which occurs next Wed. so attendance is mandatory. That's Concert Choir today at 2:45 sharp in the music room.

Concert Band

Concert band members- your first rehearsal of semester two is Thursday at 2:40 in the music room. If you are new to KCi and have at least one year of experience playing a band instrument, then this group is for you! See Mr Surian for a band folder if you wihs to join this exciting performing group. Meet in the music room (room 110) at 2:40 PM with your music folder. New members are still welcome to attend.

Jazz Band

Jazz band members, your first rehearsal will take place Tuesday after school. This will be followed by Concert choir on Wed and Concert Band on Thursday after school respectively.
